EuroJackpot history

  • Eurojackpot lottery was first proposed in 2006.
  • Germany, Finland, Denmark, Slovenia, Italy and the Netherlands met in Amsterdam in to finalize the negotiations for Eurojackpot lottery on November 2011.
  • First lottery draw was on March 23, 2012.
  • Spain joined on 30 June 2012.
  • Number of supplemental numbers was increased from 8 to 10.This change in rules that lowered the chances of winning the jackpot and increased the chances of winning the smallest cash prize October 10, 2014.
  • The Czech Republic and Hungary joined on October 10, 2014.
  • Slovakia joined on October 9, 2015.
  • Greece joined on March 2024
  • On March 25, 2022, significant game changes were implemented to commemorate the tenth anniversary of EuroJackpot. A second weekly draw was introduced, now held on Tuesdays in addition to the traditional Friday draw. Furthermore, the maximum jackpot cap was increased from 90 million euros (€90M) to 120 million euros (€120M). Finally, the game formula was modified by expanding the selection range for the two Euro Numbers from 1-10 to 1-12, resulting in a reduction of the jackpot winning odds from 1 in 95,344,200 to approximately 1 in 139,838,160.
  • The Maximum Jackpot limit was increased to 120 million euros on July 19, 2022.
